Storm Set to Face SNU on Saturday

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern sets out for the first of back-to-back Great American Conference road trips when it heads to Bethany, Okla., on Sept. 28 for a 1 p.m. contest against Southern Nazarene.

The Savage Storm are coming off a tough loss to Oklahoma Baptist decided by a score in the final minute which dropped SE to 1-2 on the year.

The Crimson Storm come into the matchup with an 0-3 record following a 45-7 loss to East Central last Saturday.

Southeastern posted over 300 yards through the air in its last outing and saw wide receiver Braxton Kincade haul in seven catches for 127 yards and two scores.

On the year the Storm have a pair of receivers who have already surpassed 200 yards, with Kincade posting 233 and two TDs on 16 catches while Felton Hatcher is at 209 on 17 grabs.

Defensively, Conner Swope continues to lead the conference in tackles after turning in 16 stops against the Bison to stretch his double-digit tackle streak to six games.  His number has climbed to 39 on the year and his 13.0 tackles per game ranks third in the nation.

The series against SNU is the youngest series on the Southeastern schedule as Saturday will mark just the seventh meeting all time, with the Savage Storm having won all six previous meetings.

Last season SE picked up a 35-0 win and shut out the Crimson Storm for the second-straight year after a 58-0 win in 2017.

Southeastern has scored at least 31 points in every meeting and has never allowed more than 14, including a trio of shutouts since the series began in 2013.

SNU comes into the matchup averaging 9.0 ppg on offense, while allowing its opponents to score 37.7 per outing.

Crimson Storm foes have amassed 470.0 yards per game of total offense, while holding SNU to 210.0 per game.
