DURANT, Okla. – Former Southeastern standout kicker
Joel Carlos has earned a place on the Great American Conference's All-Decade Football Team announced on Tuesday.

Carlos, a native of Carrollton, Texas, was a member of the Savage Storm football program from 2014 through his senior season in 2018 and is a three-time All-GAC selection, twice earning first-team honors while also going on to earn All-Super Region 3 recognition twice.

One of the most versatile kickers in SE or GAC history, he handled field goals, PAT, and punts over his four year career on the field.

He holds the Southeastern record for made field goals with 49, connecting on 71.0 percent of his kicks with a career long of 48 yards. In addition he was 94.7 percent on PAT tries, including a perfect junior campaign when he hit 33-of-33 PAT.

Those efforts compiled him 271 career points, making him the highest scoring kicker in SE history and just 11 points off the career-scoring record of 282 points.

He also handled punting duties over his four seasons, averaging 38.5 yards per punt on 198 career punts with a long of 72 yards. He also holds the record for career punts landed inside the 20 yard line with 70.

The GAC All-Decade team was voted on by league coaches, athletic directors, senior woman administrators, and members of the media. The league will be releasing teams throughout the remainder of the month of January.
