DURANT, Okla. - Voice of the Savage Storm and Southeastern alum Jay Lindly joins
Matt Thomas to talk about getting his start covering Savage Storm sports and coming full circle to help create the Southeastern Sports Network in the latest installment of SE Check in presented by First Texoma National Bank.
Lindly got his start in Southeastern's communications department covering SE athletics primarily through the campus radio show he started called Savage Sports Beat. He would go on to call some of the first live events carried on campus radio before earning his degree and venturing into the world of radio.
That world would circle back to Durant where he would work closely with Bob Sullins in creating the Southeastern Sports Network which has become one of the largest networks operating in Division II, with Storm events available throughout the entire southeastern corner of the state of Oklahoma East of I-35 and South of I-40.
