Men's Tennis Cracks Preseason ITA Top-25

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern men's tennis will open the championship portion of the 2020 season ranked No. 22 nationally in the preseason Oracle/ITA Division II Men's Tennis Poll.

The Savage Storm will also head into the season as the top-ranked team in the Central region.

SE is the highest ranked Great American Conference school in either poll, with Southern Arkansas being the only other team to make the top-25 nationally.

The Storm leading the regional ranking places them ahead of SAU in second and Harding in the third-place spot.

Southeastern is bolstered by returning ITA All-American and GAC Player and Newcomer of the Year Juan Scopetta who posted a 14-3 record a year ago.

SE also returns Benjamin Finet, Danrich Kruger, and Milos Vuckovic from a team that earned a GAC Championship in 2019.

Manuel Pilotto highlights the team's new additions after making an unprecedented run to the final eight at the ITA Cup after picking up an ITA Central Region Championship in the fall.

Southeastern opens the 2020 season on Feb. 8 at the Southeastern Tennis Complex when it hosts Austin College at 11 a.m. followed by Cowley County CC at 3 p.m.
