DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern senior forward
Kevin Buckingham has been named a First Team All-Central Region selection by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Â
Buckingham, a native of Keller, Texas, adds to his growing list of 2020 honors after already picking up his second-straight Academic All-American award and earning second team D2CCA All-Central Region honors.
Â
Over the 2019-20 season he has averaged 21.0 ppg while shooting 56.4 percent from the field and pulling down 7.4 rebounds per game while helping the team to a 23-8 record and a second-straight trip to the NCAA Division II Central Regional.
Â
Buckingham recently became the fourth player in program history and just the second in Great American Conference history to pass the 2,000-point mark, ranking him fourth in SE history and second in GAC history in scoring.
Â
On the boards he is the GAC all-time leader with 856 rebounds which is good for third all-time on Southeastern's list.
Â
He also ranks in the top five in program history in steals and blocked shots and is among the GAC's top-10 in both.
