MONTICELLO, Ark. – Southeastern closed out its first Arkansas road swing with a 3-0 loss at Arkansas-Monticello on Friday night in Monticello, Ark.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 6-9 overall on the season and 3-4 in Great American Conference play.

For the second-straight outing
Caroline Griffith led the SE offense, this time finishing with 10 kills in the match, while
Skylor Lewis was next up with nine and
Jadyn James added seven.

Overall, the Storm again held an edge in total kills for the match, topping UAM 39-to-38, but was stung with the error bug, committing 23 on the match.

Ruthie Forson dished out a match-high 30 assists while adding four kills and two aces on offense, while adding five digs on defense.

Grace Shehadeh led the defense with 18 digs which paced all defenders in the match, while Lewis was right behind with 17 and
Micah Stiggers chipped in 12.

SE fell behind early in the first set as UAM opened with a 12-3 run. The Storm would put together a 10-4 run to close the deficit to 18-14 but were unable to complete the comeback as the Cotton Blossoms took the first set 25-19.

Southeastern used a 7-0 run to turn a 16-14 deficit into a 20-16 lead in set two. The teams followed by trading short runs, playing to ties at 22-22, 24-24, 25-25, and 26-26 before UAM took the final two points to secure set two 28-26.

The Storm found itself in a hole in set three, but used a 10-3 run to open up a 20-19 lead. The Teams would tie twice over the next three points, but the Blossoms would take four of the final six points to win the set 25-23.
