DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern setter
Ruthie Forson turned in a triple double on Tuesday night but it was not enough to lift the Savage Storm past Southwestern Oklahoma State in a 3-1 loss in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

The loss drops SE to 7-16 on the season and 4-9 in Great American Conference play heading into a Thursday night matchup with Oklahoma Baptist at 7 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

Forson led the team on offense with 13 kills while dishing out 32 assists and adding two service aces, while picking up 11 digs on defense.
Â
Madison Martinez was next in line on offense with nine kills, followed by
Jocelyn Grewing's eight and
Caroline Griffith's six.

Crislynn Autry posted four aces, while
Micah Stiggers finished with three aces as the teams posted 13 combined for the match.

Autry would also pace the defense in digs with 20 on the night while
Grace Shehadeh was right behind her with 17.
McKenzie Turkoly chipped in 15 digs, while Stiggers and Forson had 11 each, bringing the total number of players with double-digit dig tallies to five.

Griffith and Martinez would each post a pair of blocks to lead the net defense.

The first set was about trading runs and the Storm would rally to an 18-18 tie before SWOSU finished the set by taking seven of the final 10 points for a 25-21 edge.

In the second set, the Bulldogs again jumped out in front but this time SE rallied back to tie the match at 11-11 before trade eight ties and eight lead changes before SE pushed out to a 23-21 lead and would pull out the 25-23 win in the set and even the match at 1-1.

The third set was just as back-and-forth as the second set had finished with the teams never separating by more than three points and eventually knotting the score at 21-21. SWOSU would take four of the next five points however and swipe the set 25-22 to take a 2-1 lead.

The fourth set remained close early with the teams playing to an 11-11 tie before an 8-2 Bulldog run would leave SE playing catchup as they were unable to close the gap, dropping the set 25-18 and the match 3-1.
