Volleyball Returns to Action vs. SNU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern volleyball will return to the court for a match for the first time in 36 days when it makes the trip to Bethany, Okla., to take on Southern Nazarene at 7 p.m. on March 11.
 
The Savage Storm were forced to postpone four matches due to winter weather and Covid protocols, but will be returning to action against the same team they last faced.
 
SE comes into the contest 0-2 on the season with its last game action being a 3-1 loss to SNU that saw – Aleksandra Rodic and Skylor Lewis each collect double-digit kills while Caroline Griffith led all defenders with eight total blocks.
 
Rodic led all attackers on the night with 13 kills and rounded out a second-straight double-double with 15 digs.
 
Lewis collected her first double-double of the year with 12 kills while picking up 15 digs as well.
 
Ruthie Forson continued to trigger the offense to the tune of 39 assists while adding in five kills and six digs.
 
Defensively, Griffith posted eight total blocks, four solo and four assisted, while Jocelyn Grewing added three total blocks and SE held a 10-to-7 edge in team blocks for the match.
 
Grace Shehadeh turned in her second-straight 20-plus dig performance, leading the way for the Storm with 22 digs, while Lewis and Rodic joined her in double-figures with 15 apiece.
 
Rodic is averaging 3.71 kills per set in her two matches, while Lewis is next in line at 3.00 per set, with Forson fueling the offense at 9.86 assists per set.
 
On defense, Griffith's 2.00 blocks per set paces the team, while Shehadeh is picking up 6.00 digs per set along the back row.
 
The Crimson Storm enters Thursday's matchup at 2-4 on the season and led on offense by Sunny Batschelett who is averaging 2.32 kills per set, while Breckynn Meyer is dishing out 8.95 assists per set.
 
Batrschelett also leads the defense with 0.91 blocks per set, while Logan Matthews is adding 4.27 digs per set.
