Buckner would single and Rice was hit by a pitch, but Ramirez would connect on an RBI single to close the gap to 5-4, scoring Buckner.

Two batter later a Miles two-run single would regain the lead at 6-5, and Dylan Herd would come around to score a run on a wild pitch, error combination to go ahead 7-5.

Both teams went silent through eight innings, but a Buckner RBI groundout in the top of the ninth would score Ricard Ware and push the lead to 8-5.

The Boll Weevils would answer with a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth but that was where the rally would end, with SE hanging on for an 8-6 victory.

In the finale, Mason Whitmarsh would get the start and toss a complete game, allowing two runs on six hits with four strikeouts, but was saddled with the loss, falling to 3-2 on the season.
