SHAWNEE, Okla. – Despite outhitting Oklahoma Baptist 12-to-11, Southeastern found itself on the wrong side of a 12-10 final score on Friday night in the series opener in Shawnee, Okla.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 11-10 overall and 7-9 in Great American Conference play with he final two games of the series slated for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.

Matt Miles put on a hitting clinic at the plate, finishing 4-for-5 in the game with three RBI and three runs scored. He would post a home run and a pair of doubles along with a single.

Joseph Ramirez added three hits, while
Seth Morrow and
Hayden Evans had two apiece.
Â
Richard Ware rounded out the offense with one.
Â
Miles and Morrow drove in three runs each, with Ware adding two RBI.

Evans and Ramirez each drove in one.
Â
Tyler Dean got the start and tossed 6.0 innings on his way to a no decision after allowing three runs on six hits with seven strikeouts.

Jacob Bigham tossed an inning in relief and was saddled with the loss after allowing five runs on two hits with one K.

Jacob Potter recorded one-third of an inning and allowed an unearned run on three hits before
Coby Langford came on to retie the final two outs, doing so on one batter as the defense turned a double play.

Miles got SE on the bord by leading off the game with a solo homer to right field.

Miles would supply another run on an RBI double to drive in Ramirez, and he would come around two batters later to score on a Morrow RBI double to take a 3-0 lead.

The lead would not last long though as OBU would get an RBI triple and a two-run homer to knot the game at 3-3.

A Ramirez single in the top of the third would plate
Hayden Evans for a 4-3 lead, but it would not last long as the Bison would take advantage of an SE error and knot the game before picking up a two-run homer to go ahead 6-4.

The Storm would answer in the top of the sixth as a Miles RBI double would score Ramirez, followed by a Morrow RBI double to score Miles and tie the game at 6-6.

SE would regain the lead in the seventh as Evans would double home
Slayde Ortiz to go ahead 7-6.

Later in the inning, the Storm would tack on two more runs on a Ware two-run single that score Evans and Ramirez for a 9-6 advantage.

That advantage would disappear in the eighth inning as the Bison would put up six runs to take a 12-9 lead.

The Storm tried to mount a rally in the top of the ninth at Morrow would plate
Blake McQuain who reached on a pinch-hit walk, but the Rally would end there with the tying run at the plate as the Storm fell 12-10.
