SHAWNEE, Okla. – Southeastern posted 22 hits and 11 runs over two games, but was unable to pick up a win on Saturday afternoon against Oklahoma Baptist, dropping game one 14-6 before closing out the day with a 12-5 loss in Shawnee, Okla.

The losses drops the Savage Storm to 11-12 overall on the season and 7-11 in Great American Conference play.

In the opener,
Slayde Ortiz paced the Storm hitters in game one with three hits, while
Blake McQuain making his first start added two hits, as did
Seth Morrow,
Joseph Ramirez, and
Richard Ware.

Matt Miles and
Dylan Herd tacked on one hit each.
Â
Miles and Morrow each had solo homers, while Morrow and Ortiz had a double apiece.
Â
Ramirez would drive in two runs in the contest, while Miles, Morrow, Ortiz, and Ware each had an RBI.

Dylan Turner got the start in game one and tossed 2.0 innings and was tagged for five runs on five hits with a strikeout in a no decision.

Logan Teske would follow in relief and tossed 3.1 innings, allowing five runs, only two of them earned, on three hits while striking out six while taking the loss.

Coby Langford came on to relieve Teske and tossed 1.2 innings, allowing three runs on three hits with two strikeouts.

Spencer Wallace would come on to toss the eighth inning and was tagged for a run on two hits with one K.

SE jumped in front in the top of the first inning, taking advantage of a McQuain single and an Ortiz double when Ramirez connected on a two-run single for a 2-0 lead.

A solo homer in the bottom of the first would cut the Storm lead to 2-1, and another two-run shot in the bottom of the third would leave SE trialing 3-2.

Another two-run homer in the third would stretch OBU's lead to 5-2.

Southeastern found an answer in the fifth, with Miles scoring on a Morrow RBI double followed by an Ortiz RBI single to plate McQuain and close the gap to 5-4.

The Bison would tack on a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth to move ahead 6-4, but Ware and Miles would each collect solo homers in the top of the sixth to knot the game at 6-6.

However, OBU would take advantage of an SE error, two walks, and three wild pitches to put up four runs and take a 10-6 lead.

The Bison added three more on a three-run homer in the seventh, stretching their lead to 13-6, and a sac fly in the eighth moved the score to 14-6.

SE would load the bases with no outs in the top of the ninth, but was unable to bring home a run, leaving the final score 14-6.

In the finale, Ortiz and Ramirez each posted a pair of hits, while Miles, McQuain, Morrow, Ware, and
Davis Jenks each had one.

Morrow's one hit went for a homer, while Miles, Ware and Jenks each doubled.

Morrow posted a pair of RBI, while Miles, Herd and Jenks each drove in one.

Mason Whitmarsh got the start and took the loss after tossing 3.0 innings and allowing six runs, five earned, on five hits with five strikeouts.

KC Bryan tossed 1.1 innings in relief and allowed three runs, two earned, on two hits with two strikeouts.

Kenneth Klier recorded one-third of an inning, allowing a run on a hit, while
Connor Priest also added one-third of an inning without allowing a hit.

Jordan Compton would close out the contest with an inning of work, allowing two runs on one hit with one K.

For the third-straight game SE scored in the top of the first inning, this time with Morrow cashing in on a Miles leadoff walk, connecting on a two-run homer for a 2-0 advantage.

A Herd sac fly in the second pushed that edge to 3-0, driving in Ramirez from third.

OBU would answer in the bottom of the second with an RBI single and a two-run homer to tie the game at 3-3.

The Bison would swipe the lead in the bottom of the third with an RBI single followed by a two-run single to take a 6-3 lead, and would tack on another run in the fourth and three more in the fifth for a 10-3 lead.

A Jenks double in the top of the sixth would plate Ramirez, and a batter later he would score on a Miles RBI double to trim the deficit to 10-5.

However, OBU would answer with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to set the final score at 12-5.
