LAWTON, Okla. – Southeastern took a step back out of conference play but kept the momentum rolling with a 3-0 win over Cameron on Wednesday night in Lawton, Okla.

The win evens the Savage Storm overall record to 4-4 on the season with its next action coming on the other side of the weekend when it travels to Weatherford, Okla., to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State on Sept. 21.

SE was paced by the duo of
Skylor Lewis and
Caroline Griffith who each posted nine kills, while
Jessie Steele checked in with eight and
Mya Afflerbach posted five.

Ruthie Forson handed out a match-best 31 assists to power the Storm offense while also adding three kills, a service ace and three digs.

Grace Shehadeh carried the defensive load on the back row with 15 digs to pace all defenders, while
McKenzie Turkoly was next in line with seven.

Afflerbach and
Jadyn James each posted three blocks to lead the way at the net.

SE would score six of the final eight points in set one to pull away for the 26-16 win, with Steele posting five kills in the set while Lewis turned in four.

The Storm would turn in a huge run over the latter half of set two, breaking an 8-8 tie by reeling off a 16-5 run, led by four Griffith kills, to pull away with a 25-13 win in the set and a 2-0 lead in the match.

Southeastern would polish off the match in three sets after using another big run and breaking a 13-13 tie by scoring 12 of the next 15 points to secure a 25-16 win in the clinching set.
