Volleyball Set to Welcome Rival ECU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern is set to return to the court in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium Tuesday night when it welcomes rival East Central for a 7 p.m. first serve.
 
The Savage Storm enter the contest with a 5-5 record overall on the season and a 2-1 mark in Great American Conference play, leaving them in a four-way tie for third-place in the league standings.
 
One of those teams in the tie at 2-1 is the Tigers who are 4-9 overall on the year.
 
SE has picked up wins in four of its last five matches and is led on offense by Skylor Lewis who is leading the league in kills with 3.41 kills per set, while the Storm offense features five other players who are averaging more than one kill per set.
 
Ruthie Forson is one of those players as she average 1.67 kills per set while also ranking fifth in the GAC in assists with 8.72 assists per set. She is also averaging 2.62 digs per set and is the only player in the conference to record a triple-double this season.
 
Grace Shehadeh leads the defense along the back row with 5.10 digs per set which is the third-best mark in the GAC, and in her last outing was able to reach the 1,000-dig mark for her career.
 
At the net, Caroline Griffith has collected 20 total blocks to lead the way.
 
ECU comes into Tuesday's matchup following a 3-2 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State in Ada, Okla., last Friday and like the Storm have won four of their last five contests.
 
The Tigers offense is led by Nyah Walker who is putting up 2.69 kills per set while Sydney Dungen leads the team's setters with 4.47 assists per set.
 
Defensively, Alejandra Delgado is putting up 5.31 digs per set, while Kemyra Landry leads the team at the net with 31 total blocks.
