DURANT, Okla. – For the second-straight outing Southeastern found itself on the wrong end of a heartbreaking 3-2 score, this time falling to Arkansas-Monticello on Friday afternoon in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 3-19 overall and 1-10 in Great American Conference play.

Avynn La Rose led the offense with 14 kills while
Brooklee Waltrip joined her in double-digits with 10.Â
Michera Moffett added eight kills in the effort while
Jadyn James chipped in seven.

McKenzie Turkoly and
Ruthie Forson split the setting duties down the middle, with Turkoly finishing with 21 assists and adding nine digs while Forson posted 20 assists and added five kills.

Defensively,
Peyton Kriegel posted 22 digs to lead the back row while Waltrip and
Amaya Constantino each finished with 10.

At the net, Moffett, Forson, and La Rose each recorded a block.

Southeastern would rally in set one, taking eight of the final nine points to come from behind for the 25-22 win in the set.

UAM would even the match by turning in a 4-1 run over the final five points to take set two 25-23.

SE would jump in front early 6-1 and lead for the entire set, holding off a late rally by scoring the final four points to win the set 25-20 and take a 2-1 lead.

The teams would trade big runs midway through the fourth set, but it was UAM who had the last one, taking the final four points to win the set 25-20 and even the match at 2-2.

The Cotton Blossoms would jump out to a 13-9 lead in the final set and a late Storm push would come up short in a 15-11 loss, making the final 3-2.
