Volleyball Treks to Missouri to face Drury, SBU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will close out its 11-match, season-opening road swing when it treks to southwestern Missouri to take on Southwest Baptist on Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. in Bolivar, Mo., before heading to Springfield, Mo., to face Drury at 1 p.m.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 1-8 record on the season and are coming off a hard-fought, 3-2 loss to Southern Nazarene in the Great American Conference opener on Tuesday.
 
Offensively, SE will be looking for D'Nari Mills to continue her hot streak on the attack as she heads into the weekend averaging 3.72 kills per set and has collected 20-plus kills in each of the last three matches.
 
Jessica Hardin checks in with 2.08 kps, while six other players have averaged at least one kills per set.
 
Ruthie Forson and McKenzie Turkoly have been splitting the setting duties, with Forson holding an edge in average with 4.70 assists per set, while Turkoly is adding 4.13 per set.  Forson is also handing out 1.17 kills per set, while Turkoly has added 1.55 digs per set on defense.
 
Patience Lewis leads the back row defense with 3.94 digs per set, while Amaya Constantino is right on her heels with 3.50 dps.
 
At the net, Maci Morrison has posted 11 blocks while Michera Moffett has added 10.
 
SBU comes into the weekend with a 3-5 record on the season which includes a 1-1 record against GAC foes.
 
Azalea Clendenning leads the Bearcat offense with 2.79 kills per set, with Bailey Lasater handing out a team-best 4.40 assists per set.
 
Defensively, SBU is paced on the back row by Aleena Peterson with 4.04 digs per set and at the net by Rachel Francis' 25 total blocks.
 
Drury enters the weekend with a 4-5 record and a win over its only GAC foe, Southern Arkansas.
 
Salma Lewis leads the offense with 2.46 kills per set, while Chloe Rear is handing out a team-leading 6.77 assists per set.
 
Kayli Duncan leads the defense with 39 total blocks, while Juliana Squire paces the back row with 4.30 digs per set.
