Gray, Hall Named D2Football.com Elite 100

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern's Marquis Gray and Maalik Hall continue to add to their honors for the 2022 season as both have been selected to the D2Football.com Elite 100.
 
Hall, a senior from Athens, Texas, picks up the honor for the second-consecutive year while Gray, a junior from Tyler, Texas, earns his first recognition to the team.
 
Gray, a wide receiver, adds the honor to his trio of All-American selections which include a first team AP selection, AFCA first team honors, and his second team D2CCA All-American recognition earned earlier this week. Additionally, he was named a first team All-Super Region 3 honoree to go with first team All-Great American Conference recognition.
 
He has been not only the top receiver in the GAC but also among the best in the nation as he has racked up 1,463 yards receiving, setting a new Southeastern single season record, while also breaking the school record for touchdowns in a season with 17. He completed the single season record trifecta when he hauled in 10 catches in the bowl game to finish the year with 79 receptions, setting a new school mark in that as well.
 
He posted back-to-back three touchdown outings this season and caught a touchdown pass in every regular season game this season.
 
He turned in six games with more than 100 yards receiving, including his career-high 201-yard effort, while putting up multiple touchdowns in four games this season.
 
Hall, a linebacker, adds this honor to an AFCA All-America selection as well as first team All-GAC honors as he continued to be one of the most disruptive defensive players in the GAC this season, finishing eighth in the conference in tackles overall with 76 over 10 games, but led the league with eight sacks on the season and tacked on 11.5 tackles for loss.
 
His eight sacks are the most in a season in SE's time in Division II, and on the season, he posted multi-sack outings three times, including a season-best three against East Central.
 
He has a trio of 10-plus tackle games, with a career-high 17 stops against Southern Nazarene.
