DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern jumped to a 2-0 lead but was unable to maintain the momentum as Oklahoma Christian would win the final three sets and the Savage Storm would fall 3-2 on Saturday afternoon in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

"It's unfortunate to be up two and lose in five," said head coach
Nicole Solum-Mitchell. "We made costly errors. I think Sandra did a great job holding the block and finding ways to score. We learn from this and prepare for next week."

D'Nari Mills matched the match high with 17 kills, while
Sandra Acheampong was next in line with 10 kills.

Ruthie Forson posted nine kills in the effort, while
Noelia Rocha added eight.

Forson would hand out 37 assists in addition to her nine kills on offense, while chipping in four digs and a block on defense.

Amaya Constantino posted a team-best 18 digs, while Mills added 14 and
Peyton Kriegel followed with 10.

At the net,
Michera Moffett posted four blocks, while five others recorded one each.

SE would jump in front in the first set, taking a 501 lead and never looking back on its way to a 25-17 win in the set.

The Storm would hold a lead in the second set at 20-17, but would have to hold off a late Eagle charge, scoring the final three points in the set to take a 2-0 lead with a 26-24 win in set two.

OCU would use an 11-5 run mid-set in the third to take a 22-11 lead and end up taking the set 25-16 to cut the Southeastern lead to 2-1.

The Eagles opened with a 5-1 run to open the set, and would end the set by scoring nine of the last 10 points to take the set 25-12 and even the match at 2-2.

OCU would use an 8-3 run early in the fifth set to open up a 9-3 lead en route to taking the fifth set 15-10 to swipe the 3-2 final score.
