D'Nari Mills turned in a match-high 16 kills, but the Southeastern offense struggled to gain traction in a 3-0 loss at Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday night in Shawnee, Okla.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 5-10 overall with a 1-4 record in Great American Conference play.

"We had a great start and couldn't keep it," said head coach
Nicole Solum-Mitchell. "OBU is a large blocking team and offensively we had a hard time getting around that. We have to keep a focus on serve-receive to keep our middles involved. We bounce back and get ready for next Thursday."

Mills led all attackers with 16 kills, but the Storm would finish with 29 kills as a team and would suffer 21 attack errors.

Ruthie Forson would add 22 assists along with a pair of kills and four digs.

Defensively,
Amaya Constantino picked up a team-high 11 digs, while
Avynn La Rose,
Michera Moffett, and
Faith Kruebbe added a block apiece.

SE would jump out to an early 4-1 lead, but the Bisons would respond and take the lead until the Storm tied the match at 15-15. OBU would break the tie with a pair of points and eventually pull away to take the set 25-21.

After a back and forth start to set two, the Bison would use a 7-1 run to take the lead and would go on to take the second set 25-15 to lead the match 2-0.

In the third set, OBU would use a 5-0 run near the midway point to push its lead to 17-9 and the Storm was unable to mount a rally, dropping the final set 25-16.
