DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State heads to Weatherford on Thursday, Oct. 3, to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State at 6 p.m. inside the Pioneer Event Center.

Southeastern (5-8, 2-2) got back in the win column on Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over Southern Nazarene. SE and SNU were tied at 1-1 after the first two sets, and the Savage Storm would win the next two frames, including a dominant 25-12 set four to improve to 2-2 in conference play.
SE had three players reach double-digit kills against Southern Nazarene, led by
D'Nari Mills, with 19 on a .241 attack percentage. The Cypress, Texas native also added 21 digs to her totals for her ninth double-double this season. Mills reached 200 kills for the season Tuesday night, which leads the GAC, and she continues to pace the conference in kills per set (3.85).
Joining Mills,
Ruthie Forson and
Noelia Rocha slammed down 11 and 10 kills, respectively, while Forson saw her fourth triple-double of the season with 45 assists and 15 digs. Along with her setting duties, Forson has now seen three straight matches with double-digit kills, which puts her second on the team in kills with 119. Rocha has seen double-figure kills in two of the last three contests and ranks third on the team with 115.
Patience Lewis set a new season-high digs total in the win over SNU, having reached 252 on the year after leading the team with 30 on Tuesday night. Lewis ranks in the top five of the GAC in digs with 4.85 per set and has also recorded the fifth most total digs in the league.
Southeastern and Southwestern Oklahoma State meet for the 41st time Thursday night, with the Bulldogs leading the series 28-13. SE will be looking for its first win over SWOSU since 2020 and its first road win since 2017.
PREVIEWING SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE
SWOSU has picked up two conference wins to start the season, with victories over Oklahoma Baptist and Northwestern Oklahoma State. The Bulldogs' lone loss in GAC came on the road at East Central. Southwestern Oklahoma State holds a 6-6 mark overall and is 2-1 in league action heading into Thursday's match.
The Bulldogs are led by outside hitter Lacy Mott, who ranks second in the conference in kills with 3.51 kills per set. Mott has totaled 172 on the year and has reached double-digit kills in all but one match. The senior is also second on the team in digs with 130 and has seen six double-doubles, including three in her last three contests.
Last year's GAC Freshman of the Year, Jada Permenter, leads the team in digs with 162, averaging 3.31 per set. In the last three matches, the Amarillo, Texas native has 71 digs, including a season 30 against Oklahoma Baptist. Permenter is one of six players with ten or more aces on the team, as SWOSU leads the league in service aces with 1.98 aces per set.
