RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – For the second time this season,
D'Nari Mills is named Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Mills helped the Savage Storm to back-to-back sweeps against Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas, as SE improved to 10-11 overall and 6-5 in the GAC standings.
The junior outside hitter racked up 33 kills over two matches and averaged a conference-high 5.50 kills per set for the week across six frames. In addition, Mills chipped in four service aces, 21 digs and 6.0 total blocks.
The Cypress, Texas native got the week going with a double-double in the sweep against Arkansas-Monticello, recording 12 kills and 12 digs while adding 4.0 blocks. Mills followed that with a 21-kill performance in a 3-0 win over Southern Arkansas and carried a .462 attack average.
Mills is averaging a conference-high 3.90 kills per set this season and ranks third in total kills with 320. The Cypress Wood High School product has reached double-figure kills in all but two matches this year and has 14 double-doubles across 21 contests.
Southeastern (10-11, 6-5) faces Oklahoma Christian tonight at 6 p.m. on the road before returning home on Thursday, Oct. 31, to host Oklahoma Baptist at 6 p.m. in the Bloomer Sullivan Gym.
