SE Faces Texas A&M-Kingsville Saturday

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State welcomes Texas A&M-Kingsville to the Bloomer Sullivan Arena on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 3 p.m.
 
STORM WATCH
Southeastern (2-3) battled back and forth with Texas-Permian Basin on Tuesday, but the Falcons would use a late surge in the final minutes of the game to win 85-84. The Savage Storm led most of the game, but the visitors capitalized on 34 trips to the free-throw line, converting 27 shots.
 
Daniel Halldorsson played 39 minutes in the defeat and led the Storm with 27 points and nine assists. This season, the freshman guard has played the most minutes of any player and is averaging 33.6 minutes per game on the court. Halldorsson moved into first in scoring for SE with 14.6 points per game and is quickly closing in on 50 assists this season with 46. 
 
Robert Briley continues to lead the team at the glass after recording six rebounds against Texas-Permian Basin and would add 17 points to his totals for his third consecutive double-digit point contest. The Wright City, Okla. native ranks seventh in the GAC with 6.8 rebounds per game and is one of five players for the Storm averaging double-figure points (11.0). DJ Dill, Landon Condiff and Elijah Hughey round out the scoring for Southeastern with 13.8, 13.4 and 10.2 points per game, respectively.
 
Southeastern heads into its sixth meeting with Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday and trails the Javelinas 3-2 in the series. The two sides last met in the 2016-17 season, with the Storm getting the better of the Javelinas 64-59. Saturday's contest will mark the third time Southeastern and Texas A&M-Kingsville have met in Durant.
 
PREVIEWING TEXAS A&M-KINGSVILLE
Texas A&M-Kingsville has started the 2024-25 season 3-3 and recently began Lone Star Conference play against Texas A&M-International in a contest the Javelinas would drop 65-50. The Javelinas have struggled away from home early on, as they are 0-3 on the road compared to 3-0 at home.
 
TAMUK has one player averaging double-figure points per game in Isaiah Payne, with 12.0. The graduate guard is shooting 46.4 percent from the field on the season but was held to 1-of-8 shooting for three points versus Texas A&M-International. The Javelinas are seeing 64.2 points per game as a team, which ranks 16th in the Lone Star Conference, while opposing teams are averaging 68.8 points per contest.
