DURANT, Okla. – Following a record-setting performance and a pair of big conference victories, Southeastern's
Brennen Burns has picked up Great American Conference Player of the Week honors.
Â
Burns closed out his weekend by smashing the school and GAC records for assists in a game, dishing out 19 in the win over Harding, passing Adam Dworsky's mark of 16 which held the top mark for SE and the GAC.
Â
His 19 is also the most in a single game by a D2 player since 2020.
Â
He would average a double-double on the weekend, putting up 10.0 ppg and handing out 12.0 assists per outing.
Â
Burns helped lift Southeastern to a big conference win on Thursday as the team moved into a tie for the top spot in the league with a victory over Arkansas Tech which saw him put up 16 points and hand out five assists.
Â
Southeastern will be back in action on Feb. 8 with a trip to Monticello, Ark., to take on Arkansas-Monticello.
