EDMOND, Okla. – Southeastern opened the match with the doubles point and saw the bottom half of the lineup carry the day in singles en route to a 4-2 win over No. 45 Northwest Missouri State in the first round of the MIAA/GAC Tournament on Wednesday afternoon in Edmond, Okla.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 19-8 overall on the season and set up a rematch with No. 38 Harding in the semifinals which are set for 10 a.m. on May 2 back at Edmond Center Court.

SE would jump in front early, starting with a 6-3 win at the number two doubles position by
Gen Naraya and
Thabo Ncube over Michael Delebois and Filippo Piranomonte.

The Storm would finish off the doubles point at the three position when
Stipan Madzar and Djordje Kurkubic paired up to pick up a 6-4 win over Martin Sanchez and Mason Meier.

The Bearcats would even the score with the first win in singles play, picking up the point at the three position, but
David Palomares in the number four slot would retake the lead for SE with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Rafal Bednarczuk.

NWMSU would again tie the match, this time getting a win at the one position to knot the score at 2-2.

Luke Tinnock would regain the lead for Southeastern at the number five position as he would battle for a 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 win over Piranomonte, pushing the score to 3-2.

Less than 10 minutes later
Luis Ching would provide the clincher as he would rally from a 3-6 loss in the first set to win 6-4 and 6-0 in sets two and three over Sanchez at the number six spot, lifting the Storm to a 4-2 win.
