SE Football Set to Square Off with Rangers Saturday

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern football will make its longest in-state road trip as it looks for a second-straight win taking on Northwestern Oklahoma State on Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. in Alva, Okla.
 
Southeastern fans can listen live via the Southeastern Sports Network on GoSoutheastern.com/SESportsNet or across the largest DII radio network in the area with Jay Lindly and Rob Johnson on the call. Local fans can pick up the game on 96.1 FM, while fans across southeastern Oklahoma and north Texas can pick up the games on 94.7 FM in Valliant, Okla., 97.7 in Ardmore, Okla., 99.5 in Rattan, Okla., 102.1 in Atoka, Okla., and 107.5 in Atoka.
 
Southeastern picked up its first win of the year and moved to 1-2 on the season last weekend with a 29-10 win over Oklahoma Baptist that was predicated on a rushing attack that piled up a season-best 264 yards on the ground and a defensive effort that shut out the Bisons in the second half.
 
NWOSU is similarly coming off its first win of the year, picking up a 14-7 decision over Southern Nazarene, holding onto a 14-0 halftime lead to pick up the victory.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend looking to carry its ground game momentum which was led by DJ Brown who had 116 yards and a touchdown in the win last week, bringing his season tally to 241 yards while averaging nearly five yards per carry.
 
Jonathon Cobb Jr., Donovan Shannon, and Ryan Hirt each also have rushing scores on the season.
 
Cergio Perez got his second-straight start and his first collegiate victory last weekend and has brought his season totals to 363 yards and one score through the air.
 
His top target thus far on the season has been Gabe Corona who has nine catches for a163 yards, while Matthew Nunez has hauled in seven grabs for 74 yards and a touchdown.
 
Kobe Jennings and Victor Taylor each have receiving scores as well.
 
Dylan Cox scored nine points for SE in its last outing on his ay to a GAC Special Teams Player of the Week award, hitting a career-long 44-yard field goal in the process.
 
The Storm defense is paced by Braeden Winters who has piled up 30 tackles over three contests, including 2.5 tackles for loss, while Tyveon Williams is right behind with 29.
 
Michael Hookfin has been a ball hawk through three outings, picking off a pair of passes, breaking up two more, and recovering a fumble in the endzone for a touchdown.
 
Dylan Sebock and De'Angelo Shanks have each recorded a sack.
 
The Rangers come into the weekend putting up 132.3 yards per game through the air, with three different quarterbacks seeing time in the backfield.  Brodey Johnson leads that trio with 190 yards and two touchdowns.
 
Darien Gill leads the rushing attack with 90 yards on 26 carries, while NWOSU has yet to score a touchdown on the ground.
 
Coby Tillman leads the Ranger defense with 34 tackles, including seven for a loss, while Bashu Delco and Aiden Lewis each have a pair of picks.
