RUSSELLVILLE, Okla. – Southeastern outgained Arkansas Tech by 121 yards and held a 10-0 lead heading to the fourth quarter, but saw the momentum swing in the fourth quarter and ultimately falling by a 14-10 final on Saturday night in Russellville, Ark.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 2-3 overall on the season and in Great American Conference play as they will return home for a Thursday afternoon matchup against nationally-ranked Harding on Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. at Paul Laird Field at Spend Life Wisely Stadium.

SE finished the contest with 192 yards on the ground with
Colton Howard leading the charge with 74 yards on 13 carries, followed by
Donovan Shannon with 67 yards on eight totes.

Howard finished the night hitting 14-of-22 through the air for 133 yards and a touchdown, while
Levay Duncan added a 6-of-9 effort for 36 yards with an interception.

Kameron Lockhart hauled in a team-high four catches with 49 yards, while
Trevin Hohenberger and Shannon each pulled in three, with Hohenberger picking up 53 yards.

Kobe Jennings picked up a pair of catches for 28 yards with one of them going for a score.

SE finished with 169 yards total through the air and finished the contest with 361 yards of total offense while the defense held the Wonder Boys to just 95 yards rushing and 239 yards of total offense in the contest.

The Storm defense was paced by
D'Teaurean Johnson who racked up eight tackles, while
Braeden Winters,
William Wallis, and
Andrew Grissom who each tallied seven stops.

Joseph Jones finished the game with a tackle for loss and a pass breakup, while
Kamron Fields snagged an interception, his third of the year.

Neither team scored in the first quarter and it remained scoreless through nearly all of the second quarter before Southeastern capped a 12-play, 90-yard drive that burned 7:11 off the clock with Howard hitting Jennings for a three-yard touchdown pass.

That would be the difference at the half as SE led at the halftime break 7-0.

The Storm stretched the lead to 10-0 midway through the third as Southeastern capped a 13-play, 53-yard drive that used 7:51 off the clock with a
Dylan Cox 29-yard field goal.

The score remained 10-0 heading to the fourth quarter, but the quarter would open with an ATU interception which was returned to he Storm 20 yardline.

Two plays later the Wonder Boys cashed in on the pick with a 19-yard TD toss, closing the SE lead to 10-7 with 14:04 to play.

The teams traded possessions and on the next Southeastern possession, the Storm drove to the ATU 31 but saw its drive end on downs.

Arkansas Tech followed with an eight-play, 71-yard drive that hit the endzone with 3:10 to play, giving the Wonder Boys a 14-10 lead,

Southeastern took the ensuing drive all the way to the ATU 16 yardline but saw a fourth-down pass miss its mark in the endzone to end its comeback hopes.
