SE Rodeo Set for College National Finals Rodeo

CASPER, Wyo. – Southeastern's men's and women's rodeo teams are set for their national title chases as they open competition at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo., beginning Sunday, June 15 and running through the finals on Saturday, June 21.
 
The event begins with the Bulls, Broncs, and Breakaway matinee performance at 1 p.m. on June 15, and will follow with slack at 7 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, as well as 7 p.m. performances Monday, through Friday.
 
The Savage Storm men's team features Luke Thrash, Tyler Griffin, and Braden Tyrer each in the bareback riding, while Blake Carter and Rowdy Nimrod will each compete in the tie down roping. Cutter Cain rounds out the six qualifiers as a header in the team roping event.
 
On the women's side, Ema Ricke and Hannah Giger will each compete in a pair of events, with Ricke running the barrel racing and goat tying while Giger will participate in the breakaway roping and goat tying. Casey Mathis will also compete in the barrel racing as will Laney Hoffman.
 
SE will kick off its efforts on Sunday afternoon as Griffin, Thrash, and Tyrer will each compete in different sections of the Bulls, Broncs, and Breakaway Matinee which begins at 1 p.m.
 
Tyrer will have his second on during slack on Monday, June 16, while Griffin and Thrash will have theirs during Tuesday mornings slack.
 
All three will make their third and final qualifying run during Thursday, June 17 performance at 7 p.m.
 
Carter and Nimrod will square off in the same sections for their first two runs it he tie down roping, making their first runs during Monday morning slack and their second runs on Tuesday morning.
 
Nimrod will be the first to compete his qualifying runs when he makes his third go during Wednesday, June 18's performance while Carter makes his third run during June 19 performance.
 
In the team roping, Cain will partner with Western Oklahoma State's Dace Morris and the pair will make their first run during Monday morning slack.
 
They follow with another slack run on Tuesday morning and will round out qualifying with a run in Thursday night's performance.
 
Giger and Ricke will each compete in a pair of events, with Giger kicking off the women's side of the competition on Sunday afternoon in the breakaway roping during the Bulls, Broncs, and Breakaway matinee.
 
She'll follow in the breakaway with a run in Monday morning slack and a third go in the Thursday night performance.
 
She will also compete in the goat tying, posting her first two runs during Monday and Tuesday slack before making her final qualifying effort during Friday, June 20's performance.
 
Ricke will join her in competing in the goat tying and will have a very busy first half of the week as she makes her first runs in the barrel racing and goat tying during Monday morning slack.
 
She will follow with her second runs in both events during slack on Tuesday morning before making both of her final qualifying runs during Tuesday night's performance.
 
Mathis and Hoffman will open their barrel racing efforts during Monday morning slack, and each will make run number two during Tuesday morning slack.
 
The pair will round out qualifying as they each compete in Wednesday night's performance.
 
After their three qualifying runs, and Storm competitors who advance to the finals will square off for a national title at 7 p.m. in the championship round.
