CASPER, Wyo. – Southeastern opened competition at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo., in strong form with a pair of top-10 first go finishes on the men's side and two more on the women's side midway through Monday's action.

Braden Tyrer led the Storm trio in the bareback through the first go, picking up an 81-point ride to finish tied for fourth on his first ride.

All three recorded a ride in the first round as
Luke Thrash turned in a 76-point outing to finish 15
th in the round while Tyler Griffin checked in with a 68 to finish 23
rd in the round.

Tyrer had the shortest turnaround and rode again on Monday morning where logged a 79 which currently ranks tied for second with half the field remaining to record their second ride, including Griffin and Thrash.

In the tie down,
Blake Carter clocked a 9.4 in the first go which is tied for sixth after one round, while
Rowdy Nimrod clocked a 14.0 and finished the round in 22
nd.

In the barrel racing,
Emma Ricke clocked a 14.38 in the first go which was good for fourth in the round, while
Laney Hoffman turned in a 19.58 to finish the round in 37
th.

In the breakaway, it was
Hannah Giger who turned in a fourth-place finish in the first round with a time of 2.1, just 0.3 seconds off the top time.

She followed that run up with a 3.3 in the second round and currently sits ninth with half the field having competed in the second go.

The Storm rounded out the first round of the goat tying with Ricke turning in a 7.0 to finish tied for 21
st, while Giger's 7.2 was good for a tie for 26
th.
