Karen Kim is named the Great American Conference Golfer of the Week after becoming the program's first individual champion, winning the ABC Supply Invitational.
Kim led the field of 26 players at the ABC Supply Invitational with a 36-hole score of 3-over 145, and would help Southeastern to a second-place finish. The junior from Richardson, Texas, got the tournament going with a 1-over 72 in round one, which was the lowest individual round score by any player over the 36 holes of play. Kim followed with a 2-over 73 in the second, and added three birdies to her total to finish with six – the second most by a player for the tournament.
This season, Kim has placed inside the top 30 individually five times, and has two top-five finishes, placing fourth at the Battle for the Belt earlier this season and finishing first most recently at the ABC Supply Invitational. Kim and Southeastern wrap up its regular season on April 6 and 7 at the Augustana Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D., at the Elmwood Golf Course.
