DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern's
Carley Button was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, as announced on Tuesday.
The Denton, Texas native added to her list of academic honors this season on Tuesday, having picked up Elite GAC Scholar Athlete recognition and was named Southeastern's co-Scholar Athlete early this year. Button, a Marketing major, posted a 4.00 GPA during her junior year.
On the course, Button made history for the SE women's golf program, becoming the first player to make the Central Regional Tournament and NCAA Championships. The All-GAC Honorable Mention player secured a second-place finish at the regional tournament with a combined score of 6-over 222 and later posted a top-10 finish at the NCAA Championships, finishing tied for eighth to capture All-American status.
To earn CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played.
