TULSA, Okla. – After three rounds of play at the NSU Men's Classic, Southeastern placed 11
th with a 54-hole team score of 29-over 881. The Savage Storm matched their second-round score in the third, shooting 12-over 296.
Northeastern State won the event with an 8-under 844 over three rounds to edge out Northwestern Oklahoma State, who finished second with a 7-under 845. NWOSU's second team slotted in just behind in third at +2, while Southern Arkansas (4
th) and Rogers State (5
th) rounded out the top five finishers.
Austin Skierski finished off the two-day event with a 3-over 74 score in round three, with his best play coming on the back nine where he shot 1-over 37 with a pair of birdies. Across the 54 holes of play, Skierski carded a 1-over 214 to finish 15th.
Reid Sharp (T30th) also shot 3-over 74 in the third round to cap off the event with a 6-over 219. Sharp scattered 10 birdies over the three rounds, including three on day two.
Davis Cioletti saw the biggest rise on the player leaderboard, as he jumped 11 spots to tie for 57
th with a score of 13-over 226. Cioletti turned his best round of the event on the day with a 1-over 72, shooting even-par 35 on the front nine and 1-over 37 on the back half with three birdies.
Nicholas Martin joined Cioletti in a tie for 57
th with a 13-over 226 after firing a 5-over 76 in round three with a trio of birdies on the back half of the course.
Tristun Burnham's final round was highlighted by the team's only eagle for the event, as he sank one on the par 5 hole 10. Burnham went on to card a 10-over 81 in the round for a final score of 18-over 231 and tied for 66
th.
Southeastern heads back to the course on September 28-29 at the Battle for the Belt, hosted by Henderson State at the Hot Springs Country.
