HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – After two rounds of play at the Battle for the Belt, Southeastern is eighth with a 36-hole score of 44-over 620. The Savage Storm got the day started with a 30-over 318 in the first round, and followed with a 14-over 302 in the second.
Nicholas Martin and
Austin Skierski led by the blue and gold on day one, as the pair shot 10-over 154. Martin began the tournament with a 2-over 74 in round one, where he turned in a flawless back nine scorecard with a birdie before posting an 8-over 80 in the second. Skierski carded a 5-over 77 in both rounds and tallied seven birdies, with five coming in round two.
Tristun Burnham got his day started with a 12-over 84, but quickly improved in the second, shooting even-par 72. Burnham's second round was near flawless with 14 pars, two birdies and two bogeys to help him to a 12-over 156.
Davis Cioletti followed with a 15-over 159, with rounds of 14-over 86 and 1-over 73.
Rounding out the SE five-bag,
Reid Sharp carded 23-over 167 after recording an 11-over 83 in round one and a 12-over 84 in the second. Additionally,
Talan Haley competed as an individual and turned in a 36-hole score of 15-over 159, highlighted by a round one score of 4-over 76 with three birdies.
Southeastern concludes play from the Par 72 Hot Springs Country Club tomorrow with round three.
