Storm Fall in Road-Trip Opener

Box Score MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southeastern saw its struggles continue on Friday night as conference-leading Southern Arkansas handed the Savage Storm a 3-0 loss in Magnolia, Ark.
 
SE slipped to 2-19 on the year and 1-6 in Great American Conference play and will face its shortest turnaround of the season when it gets back on the court in Monticello, Ark., at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning to face Arkansas-Monticello.
 
The Storm got off to a rough start with a 25-15 loss in the first set, but continued its trend of improving as the match progresses, nearly evening the match in the second set only to fall 25-23 before dropping the match-clincher 25-20 in the third.
 
Megan Kunkel and Emily Gentle posted matching nine kill outings to lead the SE offense, while Ariel Sanders chipped in five.
 
Madelynne Cera led the way in assists with 10 while Marina Dias added eight.  Cera added a kill and four digs as well, with Dias pitching in three digs.
 
Kunkel led the defense with 19 digs and Gentle added 10 as both flirted with double-doubles.
 
Gentle and Jasmine Everage each posted two blocks on the night.
