SHAWNEE, Okla. – Southeastern's women's tennis team got strong performances from the bottom half of the lineup to pull out a 5-4 victory over Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday afternoon in Shawnee, Okla.
The win gets the Savage Storm back in the win column after a tough 5-4 loss to North Central Texas and lifts the Savage Storm to 2-1 in the fall, completes the fall portion of the schedule for SE.
While the top of the lineup had some troubles in doubles and singles, the duo of Elba Huagen and
Cassaundra Braaten picked up their game.
The pair cruised to an 8-3 win in doubles as the Storm were beaten in doubles play and trailed 2-1 heading to singles.
Braaten evened the score quickly with a walkover victory at No. 6, while Haugen continued her strong play at No. 4 position with a 6-2, 6-2 win over the Bisons Kelsi Lord.
Fabiola Juarez got back on track in singles play with a win at No. 3, 6-3, 6-1 and
Amanda Gomes chipped in a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 to clinch the Southeastern victory.
