DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern women's tennis is set to welcome Arkansas-Fort Smith to the Southeastern Tennis Complex for a 1 p.m. match on Feb. 22.
The Savage Storm will be looking to take their record over .500 for the first time this spring and build upon a big win over Austin College back on Feb. 19.
The Lions come to town with a 4-4 record on the season and have lost two in-a-row, with the last being a 5-4 defeat to No. 11 Cameron.
The Storm is coming off its most dominant win of the season to get back to .500 on the young year.
SE downed the Roos by an 8-1 score.
SE opened with a doubles sweep, led by 8-0 wins by No. 1 duo
Andreea Georgescu and
Sabina Mardarenko and No. 2 duo
Fabiola Juarez and
Cassaundra Braaten.
Marina Dias and
Elba Haugen rounded out the doubles points with an 8-3 win at No. 3.
Mardarenko led off with a 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 1 in singles, while Juarez and Georgescu followed up with victories at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, to seal the victory.
Haugen and Dias picked up straight-set victories at No. 5 and 6, while the lone Storm loss came as Braaten retired form her match at the No. 4 spot due to illness.
