BENTONVILLE, Ark. – After earning a first-round bye as the No. 1 seed, Southeastern met No. 4 seed Arkansas Tech in the semifinals of the GAC Tournament, and the Golden Suns were quick out of the gate on their way to a 4-1 win. The Savage Storm ends the season 11-8 overall and 5-0 in GAC play during the regular season.
SE was behind early to the Golden Suns, who secured the doubles points with wins at lines one and two, and they would strike first in singles play at No. 5 to lead 2-0. ATU soon made it 3-0 with a win at spot four, but the Storm would pull a score back from Court 6.
Sreevally Medishetti got the blue and gold on the board with a 7-5, 6-2 win against Nayara Alvarez from her No. 6 spot. However, Arkansas Tech clinched the match from Court 2 to win 4-1.
