SE WOmen Tripped up by UAFS

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern women's tennis got off to a tough start in doubles play and never really recovered en route to an 8-1 loss to Arkansas-Fort on Friday afternoon at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
 
The loss drops the team to 3-4 overall on the season heading into a Feb. 26 home contest against Oklahoma Baptist at 2 p.m.
 
The Lions swept doubles play, winning 8-0 at No. 1 and No. 3, with the duo of Fabiola Juarez and Cassaundra Braaten putting up the best fight before falling 8-4.
 
Andreea Georgescu picked up the only SE win in singles play, taking her match at No. 36-2, 6-2.
 
Sabina Mardarenko nearly rallied in the second set at No. 1, but ultimately fell 6-4, 7-6.
 
Braaten took her first set in singles at No. 4 to a tiebreaker, but fell 7-6 and dropped he second set 6-3.
 
While no one was shut out, Juarez, Elba Haugen and Marina Dias each fell in straight sets at No. 2, 5 and 6, respectively.
