SE Heads to Lawton to Face Aggies

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will play its last non-conference road game on Tuesday when it pays a return trip to Lawton, Okla., to face Cameron for a single game at 2 p.m.
 
The Savage Storm enter the meeting at 19-17 overall on the season with one of those wins coming at the hands of the Aggies back on March19 when SE picked up a 9-3 win in Durant, Okla.
 
In that contest, Troy McCartney set the tone with a 3-for-4 day at the plate, while Aaron Chalk added a two-hit outing.
 
Chalk, Trevor Bowen and Nick Grimmett each drove in a pair of runs.
 
Levi Lewis picked up the win in that game, tossing 4.2 innings in relief while allowing a run on four hits with five strikeouts.
 
For the season the Storm continue to look toward Evan Ramsey to pace the offense as his .350 average leads a group of six player hitting .300 or better.
 
Ramsey leads the team in homers with eight and RBI with 28.
 
Ryan Salter leads the team in hits (45), doubles (8) and stolen bases (26) and is hitting .319, matching the average posted by Chevis Springer who has five doubles and 22 RBI.
 
Grimmett is hitting .312, followed by McCartney at .308 and Tucker Alexander at .300.
 
Grimmett and Alexander have each chipped in 20 RBI, while McCartney has 26 runs scored.
 
Vance Woodruff continues to pace the pitching staff with a 2.45 ERA despite his 2-7 record.  He leads the team in complete games (5), innings pitched (73.1) and strikeouts (71).
 
As a staff, SE has a 4.28 ERA which slid to fifth in the Great American Conference following a high-scoring weekend series against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
 
Cameron comes into the contest with an 11-25 mark on the season and have lost three-straight and 15 of their last 18 games.
 
The Aggies have a trio of players over the .300 mark at the plate, led by Nick Smith with a .353 average, eight doubles, two homers and 16 RBI.
 
Thomas Galvin and Keaton Green are hitting .314 and .310, respectively, while Kenny Acosta's four homers is a team high as is Brad Blumer's 23 RBI.
 
Drew Reidt and Aaron Kleekamp pace CU with sub-4.00 ERA's and a combined 5-7 record.
 
As a staff, Aggie pitching is carrying a 6.51 ERA and has just six complete games while strikring out 143 combined with an opponent's batting average of .319.
