Evan Ramsey went 3-for-5 with three RBI to pace Southeastern to an 11-5 win over Henderson State in the series opener on Friday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The win is the third-straight for the Savage Storm and lifts the team to 3-2 on the season and starts the Great American Conference season 1-0. The final two games of the series are slated for noon on Saturday afternoon.

Ramsey paced a group of eight hitters and finished the day 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI, while
Jacob Soisson was right behind with a two-hit outing and a pair of runs scored.

Six others picked up a hit each, including a home run and two RBI by
Chance Burcham.
Â
Ryan Salter and
Trevor Bowen each also added two RBI each, while
Collin Sefcik added one.
Â
Dwight Camp picked up the win after starting and tossing 5.0 innings, allowing five runs on six hits with three strikeouts.

Mason Crenshaw picked up the endurance save after tossing the final 4.0 innings, scattering two hits and striking out six.

The Storm took advantage of an HSU error right out of the gate and put up a pair of runs in the top of the first inning.
Â
Chevis Springer reached on that error with one out and stole second before scoring on a Sefcik single.
Â
Sefcik then moved to second on a wild pitch before three-straight walks would push him home for the 2-0 lead.

The Reddies, however answered by sending 10 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first and collecting two walks which were followed bby four-straight hits and when the dust settled the Storm trailed 5-2.

SE got a run back in the second inning on a Ramsey RBI double and tied the game an inning later thanks to a two-run double by Bowen that plated
Cody Coats and Soisson to knot the score at 5-5.

Burcham connected on a solo homer in the fifth to take a 6-5 lead which grew to 7-5 in the sixth on a Ramsey single that plated
Cade Clay.

Southeastern closed out the scoring by taking advantage of an HSU error in the seventh as well as a two-run single by Salter and an RBI single by Ramsey to power a four-run inning that put the Storm up 11-5 which would hold to be the final score.

After the Storm allowed five runs in the bottom of the first inning, the SE pitching staff settled down and allowed just three base runners in the second-through-eighth innings.

The Reddies put three runners on in the ninth but SE kept them from crossing home plate to set the final of 11-5.
