SE Baseball Set for GAC Home Opener

DURANT, Okla. – Right on the heels of its season home opener, Southeastern baseball will now host Ouachita Baptist Feb. 21-22 for its first home conference contests of the 2014 season at The Ballpark in Durant.
 
The opening game of the series will be at 2 p.m. on Feb. 21, followed by a noon twinbill on Feb. 22.
 
The Savage Storm enter the series with a 4-5 record overall and a 1-2 mark in Great American Conference play.
 
In its last time out, SE split its home opener with Arkasas-Fort Smith, that coming on the heels of the team dropping the final two games in its league opening series at Henderson State to drop the series two games to one.


Chance Burcham has paced the club offensive with a .348 average along with a double, a homer and five RBI.
 
Evan Ramsey still leads the team with six RBI and has also connected on a home run, while Chevis Springer has used his team-high seven stolen bases to get in position to score a team-best 11 runs.
 
The Storm features four pitchers with multiple appearances that also boast an ERA under 3.00.
 
Mason Crenshaw leads the team with a 1-0 record and a 0.00 ERA in four appearances with a pair of saves and nine innings pitched.
 
Nick Johnson is next with a 1.00 ERA over five appearances and nine innings pitched and a 1-2 record.
 
Mathew Benedict has four appearances and has thrown a team-high 12.1 innings with a 1-1 record and a 2.19 ERA.
 
OBU comes to town with an 8-4 record overall and a 3-0 mark in league play.
 
The Tigers are led on offense by Landon Moore and Parker Norris who are each hitting .297.  Moore also has a pair of doubles and eight RBI.
 
Chris Tavares also has eight RBI, while Tavares and Matt Sinclair have the teams two home runs.
 
Davis Ward leads the Tgier rotation with a 3-0 record and a 1.35 ERA in three starts with a pair of complete games.
 
Luis De Jesus has also added a pair of wins, while Keegan Ghidotti has four saves in five appearances and has yet to allow a run over five innings pitched.
