Baseball Swept at Harding on Saturday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern struggled at the plate on Saturday and dropped the final two games of its series at Harding, losing game one 11-1 before falling in the finale 6-0 in Searcy, Ark.
 
The losses drop the Savage Storm to 9-8 overall and 4-5 in Great American Conference play.
 
Chevis Springer, Wes Workman, Jacob Carter and Chance Burcham accounted for SE's four hits in game one.
 
It was the vaunted Storm pitching staff that was bitten in Saturday's first game, with Jonathon Furlong getting the start and the loss after tossing 2.1 innings and allowing three runs on five hits.
 
Nick Johnson came on to throw 2.2 innings in relief and was hit with six runs, four earned, on eight hits.
 
Jonathan Dailey tossed 2.1 innings in relief, allowing a run on no hits, with Zach Burns and Cade Clay combining to face three batters without retiring an out.  Burns was credited with a run allowed which forced the 10-run rule in the eighth inning.
 
The Bisons staked a 2-0 lead in the second inning, but the Storm answered when Ryan Salter stole home in the third inning to make the score 2-1.
 
HU would stretch their lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the third, and subsequently post five runs in the fourth and two more in the eighth to fashion the 11-1 final.
 
In the finale, Springer picked up a pair of hits, while Brayon Colley added the team's third.
 
On the hill, Dwight Camp got the start and was tagged with the loss after going 3.1 innings and allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits.
 
Mason Crenshaw threw 1.2 innings in relief and allowed a run on three hits, while Mathew Benedict finished the game with 1.0 innings, allowing two runs on three hits.
 
HU scored three runs in the first to open the scoring, then added another in the fifth and two more in the sixth to take the 6-0 win.
