SE Softball Opens Home Stand With SNU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will put its current five-game winning streak on the line when it welcomes Southern Nazarene to the Southeastern Softball Field March 14-15 for a four-game series beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday.
 
The Savage Storm enter the weekend with a 14-7 record overall and a 9-3 mark in Great American Conference play.  That mark is good for second place in the league standings behind Northwestern Oklahoma State who is 5-1 in GAC play, having played half the number of league contests.
 
SE is coming off a four-game sweep of Arkansas Tech, taking the first game 5-4, followed by wins of 2-0, 8-3 and 4-1.
 
For her performance over the weekend, Mindy McElroy was named the GHAC Pitcher of the Week.
 
McElroy for the year is 7-3 in 10 starts with four complete games and the team's lone shutout.  She won both her starts over the weekend and has struck out 21 on the season while holding hitters to a .257 average.
 
Her 2.09 ERA is good for second in the league, while she is also ranked in the top 10 in opponent's batting average, innings pitched and wins.
 
At the plate, SE is hitting .306 as a team and features a trio of hitter that carry averages better than .400.
 
Sydney Kramer leads that charge with a .485 mark and is third in the GAC in batting, while Jessica Simmons is eighth in the league at .426 and Laramie Beal is right behind her at .424.
 
Kramer is top 10 in the league in doubles, runs scored, and on-base percentage.
 
Beal leads the team in home runs with four while the team has 15 on the year, and her 18 RBI leads the way while Kramer, Arianna Jones, Haley Strawn and Courtney Riddle each have double-digit RBI totals.
 
The Crimson Storm enter the weekend with a 9-10 record overall and a 4-6 mark in league play.  They are coming off a two-game sweep at the hands of NWOSU in a shortened series, and are 4-6 in their last 10, all against league competition.
 
SNMU is paced by Kylie Lang at the plate where she is hitting .422, while four others are hitting .300 or better and the team is hitting .301 combined.
 
The team has five homers combined on the year and no one with more than one, while Hannah LeBeau leads a trio of players with double-digit RBI totals with 16.
 
Kayla Wyatt leads the team in the circle with a 5-3 record and a 3.58 ERA in 10 starts with 54 strikeouts, while Andee Frazier is right behind in ERA at 3.67 with a 4-4 record in six starts and nine appearances.
