SE Softball Set for Series at ATU

DURANT, Okla. - Southeastern softball opens a four-game series against Arkansas Tech beginning at 1 p.m. on March 7 in Russellville, Ark., as the Savage Storm look to break a three-way tie for second place in the Great American Conference in their favor.
 
The series features a double-header on Friday, March 7 and another twinbill beginning at 11 a.m. on March 8.
 
The Storm comes into the series at 10-7 overall and 5-3 in GAC play, tied with East Central and Henderson State for second with matching records.  The group trails Northwestern Oklahoma State who is 3-1 in league play.
 
Southeastern is paced on offense by Sydney Kramer who is second in the conference with a .519 average, while the duo of Jessica SImmons and Laramie Beal are each hitting over .400 at .460 and .438, respectively.
 
Beal leads the team with four home runs, while her and Kramer have each batted in 14 runs, with Courtney Riddle right bhind at 13 RBI and three homers.
 
In the circle, Mindy McElroy leads the way with a 5-3 record and a 2.60 ERA, while Shayna Milam has picked up three wins and Jacee Benett two.
 
Bennett has also picked up four fo the team's five saves.
 
The Golden Suns come into the weekend with a 7-5 record and a 2-2 GAC mark after splitting a four-game series against ECU.
 
ATU is paced by Ashley Keen who is hitting .444, while Shanna Davidson has turned in 10 RBI.
 
Sydnee Clark leads the pitching staff with a 2.42 ERA with a 2-1 record, while Victoria Huie has posted a 3-1 record.
