SEARCY, Ark. – Southeastern women's tennis fought hard from top to bottom, but came out on the wrong end of an 8-1 score against Great American Conference foe Harding on Saturday afternoon in Searcy, Ark.
The loss drops the Savage Storm to 6-10 overall and 2-2 in GAC play.
SE fell behind 3-0 after doubles, but not without the duo of
Conchi Assiego and
Darija Catipovic pushing HU's number one doubles team to an 8-6 score, while
Brittany Tobin and
Ilga Racika-Racko were tough outs at number two in an 8-5 defeat.
The Storm was unable to mount a rally in single play, with
Cassaundra Braaten picking up the team's lone win at number five singles with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Catipovic pushed the Bisons number one very hard, but came out on the short end of a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 score.
SE fell at numbers two through four in straight sets, with Tobin turning in a valiant effort at number six singles, only to fall 7-5, 7-5.
