SHAWNEE, Okla. – Southeastern women's tennis opened its fall schedule with a pair of 6-3 wins over Oklahoma Baptist and Cowley County CC this past Saturday in Shawnee, Okla.

Despite dropping No. 1 doubles against OBU, the Savage Storm got an 8-5 win from Dariaja Catipovic and
Conchi Assiego at No. 2 followed by an 8-0 win by
Ilga Racika-Racko and Paula Martinez at No. 3 to open a 2-1 lead in the match.

The Bisons would open singles by taking the Nos. 1 and 2 to briefly take a 3-2 lead in the match, but Catipovic righted the ship and tied the score at 3-3 with a 5-7, 7-6, 10-5 win at No. 3.

Building off her hard-fought win Martinez gave SE the lead at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-3 win.

The Storm would sweep the remaining two matches with Assiego winning 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5 and Racika-Racko following up with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6.

The matchup with Cowley County played out similarly with SE getting wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to open the match with a 2-1 lead.

The duo of Catipovic and Assiego pulled out a 9-7 win at No. 2 while Racika-Racko and Martinez pulled away for an 8-3 win at No. 3.

CC Would take a 3-2 lead with points at the No. 1 and 2 positions.

Catipovic would again spur the rally, tying the match at 3-3 with a 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 3.

That was followed by
Milena Vitez picking up her first win with the Storm in a 7-5, 6-4 victory at No. 4.

Martinez would cruise to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 while Assiego would wrap up the 6-3 victory with a win at No. 6.
