DURANT, Okla. – No. 24 Southeastern softball will make its true home opener when it welcomes Ouachita Baptist to the Southeastern Softball Field Feb. 20-21 for the Great American Conference opener, with double-headers slated for 1 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

The Savage Storm enter the conference opener ranked No. 24 in the nation, but carry a 4-7 record on the young year.

Despite the slow start, SE is fourth in the GAC in hitting with a .337 team average and features a pair of hitters ranked in the league's to-10 hitters by average.

Jessica Simmons leads the way with a .500 average that includes a triple, four RBI and 10 runs scored with a team-high four stolen bases despite only making a pair of pinch-hitting appearances in the five-game tournament held in Durant.

Joining her in the top-10 is
Courtney Riddle who is batting .484 with four doubles, a pair of homers and nine RBI.

In all the Storm feature six other hitters with .300 or better averages and have averaged five runs per game scoring.

Jacee Bennet carries a team-leading 3-3 record in the circle along with 29 strikeouts, while
Jessica Seay leads the club in ERA at 5.14.

OBU is fifth in the league in hitting and pitching and come into the series 4-5 overall with a win in its last outing over Minnesota-Duluth.

Sarah Johnson leads the offense with a .621 average that includes four doubles, three homers and 15 RBI.
