Softball Opens Road Swing at SNU

DURANT, Okla.  – Southeastern will kick off a 14-game road swing with a four-game conference series against Southern Nazarene March 13-14 with Friday's games slated for a 2 p.m. start while Saturday's contests are set to begin at noon in Bethany, Okla.
 
The Savage Storm are coming off a series split with No. 12 Arkansas Tech at home which moved their record to 10-9 overall and 6-2 in Great American Conference play.
 
Following the weekend SE is in second in the GAC standings behind a 6-0 Arkansas-Monticello and a half-game up on Southern Arkansas at 6-3.
 
SNU enters the weekend at 8-10 overall and 4-4 in league play, dropping 3-of-4 against Northwestern Oklahoma State after winning 3-of-4 from Harding just a week prior.
 
The Storm are second in the league in hitting with a team average of .338, led by a pair of .400 hitters in Courtney Riddle and Jessica Simmons.
 
Riddle is hitting .431 on the year with three home runs and 19 RBI, while Simmons is at .426 with 19 runs scored and eight RBI.
 
SE's next five hitters are all hitting .317 or above, while eight batters have homers on the year and six have driven in double-digit RBI totals.
 
Jacee Bennett leads the team's pitching staff with a 7-4 record, while Jessica Seay edges her out in ERA at 4.03.
 
SNU is led on offense by Kylie Lange who is hitting .547 on the season, while three others are hitting .345 or better.
 
Kayla Wyatt leads the club in the circle with a 3.30 ERA, while Katelyn Brown has picked up the most wins for the team at five.
