DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will enter the final six-game stretch of tis conference schedule with a three-game road trip to Monticello, Ark., to face Arkansas-Monticello in a key series that will have an impact on both team's postseason chances. The series has been moved to April 19-20 with a noon twinbill set for Sunday and the series finale on Monday.
The Savage Storm enter the weekend with a 14-20 record overall and a 10-9 record in Great American Conference play which is good for a tie for fifth place with the top six teams in the league going to the conference tournament.
UAM enters the series with a 14-16 overall record and a 10-12 record in conference play which is good for eighth.
The SE offense enters the series led by
Dylan Helms who carries a .374 average, leading a group of five hitting .300 or better.
Brandon Grimsley,
Chance Burcham and
Cody Coats each have a team-high four homers, while Grimsley has a team-best 24 RBI.
The pitching staff is paced by closer
Brady Colbert who has tallied a 5-2 record and four saves in 16 appearances with a 4.64 ERA, while
Nick Johnson leads the starters in wins with three.
The Boll Weevils are led offensively by Kevin Fitzpatrick's .380 average, while Corey Wood has a team-high 30 RBI.
The UAM pitching staff is highlighted by Austin Braddock who is 6-3 on the year with a 2.05 ERA.
