LAWTON, Okla. – Southeastern closed out its regular season in the win column by downing Texas-Permian Basin 5-4 on Sunday afternoon in Lawton, Okla.

The win moves the team to 16-6 on the season heading into the Great American Conference tournament April 24-25.

SE also got another piece of good news on Sunday as Arkansas Tech handed East Central a loss in league play which guaranteed the Savage Storm would earn a share of the regular season conference title.

Southeastern opened up a 2-1 lead after doubles with
Alexsandra Reljic and
Darija Catipovic leading the way with an 8-5 win at number one, while
Maria Martinez and
Conchi Assiego added an 8-3 win.

Catipovic continued the momentum into singles play and picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win at the top of the order for a 3-1 lead.

Ilga Racika-Racko added a 6-3, 6-4 win at number two, followed by a match-clinching 6-1, 6-2 win at number three by Martinez to make the score 5-1.

However, UTPB would sweep the final three matches to make the final score 5-4.
