BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Top-seeded Southeastern saw its Great American Conference tournament run come to a premature end late Friday night with a 5-4 loss to Southern Nazarene in the semifinals in Bentonville, Ark.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 16-7 on the season.

SE took a 1-0 lead with
Maria Martinez and
Conchi Assiego cruising to an 8-0 win at three doubles.
Â
However, the Storm would drop its two other doubles matches and trailed 2-1 heading into singles play.

Southeastern looked to be back on track early as it quickly regained the lead and stretched it to a 4-2 edge thanks to the bottom half of the singles lineup.

Milena Vitez was the first to finish her 6-0, 6-0 win at number six, but Assiego added a 6-0, 6-0 win at five and Martinez followed suit at number four.

SNU would answer at numbers two and three to even the match at 4-4 with the number ones playing.

Alexsandra Reljic dropped the first set to GAC Player of the Year Masha Andrianova 7-5, but responded with a 6-4 win in the second set to stay alive. Unfortunately, the final set would not go Reljic's way and the Storm would fall 5-4 in ht ematch.
