SE Baseball Welcomes Muleriders

DURANT, Okla.  – Southeastern will be looking to improve its conference standing and send its seniors out with wins when it hosts Southern Arkansas in a key Great American conference three-game series April 10-11 at the Ballpark in Durant, with a Friday double-header slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch and a single game Saturday at 1 p.m. as well.
 
Saturday will also serve as senior day for six Savage Storm seniors, Jacob Soisson, Brayon Colley, Collin Sefcik, Cody Coats, Chance Burcham and Nick Johnson.
 
SE comes into the weekend with a 13-18 record overall and a 9-7 mark in GAC play and is currently in fifth place, one game ahead of East Central and one-and-a-half games ahead of Arkansas-Monticello in seventh, with the top six teams in the standings earning a berth in the league's postseason tournament.
 
The Storm is looking to snap a four-game losing streak, but at the same time is in the midst of a four-game winning streak in conference games and has won six of its last nine GAC outings.
 
SE is hitting .289 as a team and is paced on offense by Dylan Helms at .352 with 17 doubles, while five others are hitting .315 or higher.
 
Brandon Grimsley leads the team with 19 RBI, while seven others have driven in at least 15 runs on the year.
 
Burcham and Coats lead the team in homers with  four each.
 
Dylan Linke leads the pitching staff with a 4.27 ERA and is 2-1 on the year, while Brady Colbert has piled up a 5-2 record with three saves.
 
Colbert's 41 strikeouts also leads the team, while Johnson is next in line in wins with three.
 
SAU comes in as the league's second-place team with a 26-13 record overall and a 13-8 mark In GAC play.
 
They are led on offense by Billy Germaine with a .325 average along with nine home runs and 40 RBI.
 
The pitching staff is led by Landon Simpson who is 6-3 on the year with a 1.51 ERA and 51 strikeouts, while Preston Gray and Hunter Mayo each have five wins.
